Our approach
In order to gain
an understanding of bacterial chromatin organization and its interplay with
transcription, we employ a multi-disciplinary molecular approach which includes,
but is not limited to:
- bulk-biochemical techniques
- computer modelling
- scanning force microscopy
- bulk and single molecule fluorescence
- magnetic and optical tweezers
In
addition, we collaborate with theoretical physicists to develop theoretical
frameworks for the quantitative interpretation of our results.
Occasionally
we address other interesting questions (e.g. related to DNA topology, protein-DNA
interactions, functional protein aggregation) outside the direct field of
interest with the above techniques.
