The Standard Model of Particle Physics

The Standard Model of Particle Physics describes the elementary building
blocks of matter, quarks and leptons, and the fundamental forces between
them. Symmetries play a central role, among them mirror symmetry, particle-
antiparticle symmetry and time reversal. To unravel the many questions
that are at the basis of the Standard Model the manifestation of the
breaking of fundamental symmetries are searched for in accelerators and
astrophysical phenomena.
