Oceans Model-2
The living conditions on earth are determined by the solar
irradiation and the resulting mild temperatures. Often this effect is referred to as
the Greenhouse effect.
This applet shows the effects of a model developed by Hoffert et al.: "The Role
of Deep Sea Heat Storage in the Secular Response to Climate Forcing",
Journal of Geophysical Research, Vol. 85, 6667-6679, 1980.
This model has
been modified by R. van Dorland and A. van Ulden of the Royal Dutch Meteorological
Institute.
The applet has been developed
by Pepijn de Vries. The project was supervised by Prof. dr. E. Boeker and
dr. H.J.W. Spoelder
A short description of the theory behind this model can be found here.
A short description of the different modes of the applet can be found here.
