Suggestions for other Experiments
In the example a profile measurement was performed for a radial steady state temperature profile in cylindrical geometry. The description of the development of this steady state profile is quite complicated due to the time dependence. One should realise however that the time dependent curve contains a lot of information. Without getting into the rather complicated theory of time dependent heat transport one may investigate the time dependence qualitatively or one may study just some characteristics of time dependence.
Conduction and Time Dependence
In a first approach one may consider the temperature profile for non-steady state. The uniform temperature distribution at the start and the final steady state temperature profile are extremities of this same time dependent profile.
Furthermore one may investigate the relation between heat production, ambient temperature and the time it takes to reach a steady state. This kind of conduct is rather time consuming though.
