The data acquisition can be performed using a personal computer with a data acquisition card. The measurements are performed in voltage, so that a program was developed at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam to convert the measurements into temperatures. The program, that was developed in Labview, therefore also allows for two calibration measurements. Furthermore it allows for the control of the measurement instrumentation, so that the instrumentation can be set to perform a series of measurements. In principle the data acquisition is straightforward. Problems may arise however due to problems with the calibration as discussed in the section on the system design and measurement procedure. |
