EU Commissioner visits stand Condensed Matter Physics
EU Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science visits exhibition stand of Condensed Matter in Brussels.

Davide Iannuzzi and his students Dhwajal Chavan and Grzegorz Gruca, under the sponsorship of the European Research Council, has presented fiber-top technology at the Innovation Convention 2011, in Brussels.
Their stand was one of the few visited by Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, EU Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science.
The team has showed her two simple experiments that demonstrate the ease of use and great sensitivity of fiber-top technology: a vibration sensor mounted inside a small rock (developed in collaboration with Luca Palmieri, University of Padua) and a flow meter for wind sensors (developed in collaboration with Luigi Zeni, Second University of Naples).
