Gijs Wuite appointed as professor Physics of Life Processes

The executive board has appointed per September 1st Gijs Wuite as professor with the department of Physics and Astronomy. His chair is Physics of Life Processes.

The executive board has appointed per September 1st Gijs Wuite as professor with the department of Physics and Astronomy. His chair is Physics of Life Processes. Gijs Wuite has been very successful in research on the application of quantitative physical techniques to fundamental problems in biology, and in the unification of apparently unrelated biological phenomena. Recent new and fast developments of biophysical techniques have enabled visualization, manipulation and control of the dynamics of complex biological reactions. His research was earlier awarded with a VICI grant. Gijs Wuite was last year also appointed member of the Young Academy of the KNAW.
