welcome
Welcome to the webpage of the (IDEAS)μm group. We are part of the Condensed Matter Physics section of the Faculty of Sciences, VU University Amsterdam. Thank you for your interest in our research activity. We hope you will enjoy your "journey" throughout our pages. For any questions, please, do not hesitate to contact us.
"The experiments that you will read and hear about are the result of the hard work of all the members of the group and of our collaborators. Our approach to science is based on originality: we always try to tackle long standing problems with "out-of-the-box" ideas, or to formulate new questions from the combination of arguments coming from different research areas. It is with this spirit that we prepare our research program and our daily activity. Our projects span from the design, assembly, and realization of experiments in fundamental physics (e.g., the Casimir effect) to the development of new instruments for applied sciences (e.g., the fiber-top cantilever). This attitude allows me to enjoy what I am doing and to form (I hope) a group of open minded young scientists. Once again, thank you for visiting us." - Davide Iannuzzi
The proposal “Fiber-top micromachined devices: ideas on the tip of a fiber” has received the European Research Council’s Starting
